Join us & travel back to history through Syros’s ancient paths. Our hiking proposals are not just wondering around beautiful places, hills & remote beaches.
Syros offers more than 35 carefully selected walking escapes that wait for their guests to unfold their secrets. You will be wondering through ancient authentic paths that were used as the only way of transportation between villages. . .
Discover (among others) the medieval city of the island, walk next to old mansions, running fresh waters, enjoy the magnificent views to the neighbouring islands of Tinos, Mykonos & Andros; grasp the unique chance to see how Catholic & Orthodox churches stand next to each other!
There are several types of paths and trails, stone, cement-paved & dirt tracks. There are several crossing of roads, allowing hikers to start (or end) their experience in several spots. The difficulty classification varies from the easiest one (suitable for children too) to more difficult paths.
Transportation to & from hiking routes is mainly covered by taxis or rented cars & minibus.
Suggested gear & necessities:
We recommend wearing closed shoes and long trousers for protection from vegetation and snakes (although encounter one is rare).Always carry a sun hat, swimwear (as we will get close to remote beaches with crystal clear waters).A waterproof jacket with a hood may be useful for shower purposes. You may find useful to carry a light fleece & a windproof jacket too. We will be happy to assist and provide you with a detailed list of gear & necessities required for trekking on our island.
Sample Trekking Program 8 days / 7 nights
Day 1
- Overseas joining point: Athens airport
- Meet with our staff & transfer to Piraeus port for embarkation.
- Embarkation & depart to Syros (approximately 4 hrs by normal boat; 3hrs in case of high-speed boat)
- Arrive at Syros port
- Meet with our staff & transfer to Electra hotel
- Check in & time for rest
- Dinner at local restaurant
- Overnight

- The above program is a proposal only and it is fully adjustable to your requirements
- Periods of operation: middle September – middle June (not recommended after that due to high temperatures)
